Practical experience
The Neuter Clinic offers veterinary students and recently graduated veterinarians the opportunity to gain practical surgical experience in a supportive environment.
Many participants say that one week at The Neuter Clinic gives them the same level of experience as several months in practice.
What you will learn
During the course you will gain experience in:

placing IV catheters
-
anaesthesia and monitoring
-
intubation
-
surgical preparation
-
both cats and dogs
Students work in pairs and alternate between surgeon and anaesthetist.
A week in Neuter Clinic Spain
The week usually starts with cat neuters, gradually moving to more dog surgeries later in the week. This allows students to build confidence step by step.
Students usually perform approximately:

4 cat surgeries per day
-
1–2 dog surgeries per day
Once or twice per week we may visit a local shelter to perform surgeries on location.
Who can attend?
The course is open to:

veterinary students

newly graduated veterinarians

veterinarians who want to improve their surgical confidence
No prior surgical experience is required.
